A little behind the brand with Beck, Founder of An Organised Life and new Mum to daughter Isabella.

Why did you start An Organised Life?

I always relied on a diary year after year to write down my important dates, lists & goals. I studied Graphic Design for 4 years at Massey University in Auckland & started working in the fashion industry there before transferring to Sydney in my early 20’s. When I moved to Sydney I wanted a diary, however, I couldn’t find one that was functional yet had an element of style to compliment my monochrome & minimalistic aesthetic. I realised there was a gap in the market and this was when An Organised Life was born. From there I designed my first diary, found a printer & bookbinder, produced just 300 diaries & started on my marketing & PR Plan! They sold out in 3 weeks & there was no turning back after that!

What did you have for breakfast?

My go-to breakfast is either a green smoothie, (during pregnancy I craved weet-bix with banana & blueberries), or in Winter I favour porridge with fruit.

What is your biggest health non-negotiable?

Life balance is a big non-negotiable for me. If you don’t focus on trying to find balance, it can quite often lead to burn out which is something I’ve experienced a lot of in the past. Over the last 24 months, I’ve made it a personal goal of mine to focus on down time and prioritising my health both mentally & physically. Personally, I think about all the different aspects of my life evenly now. I aim to put the same amount of energy & effort into myself & my health/wellbeing as I do with my relationships & work. It’s something I’m constantly working on.

What is your favourite daily ritual?

I love waking up & having a coffee in bed - I always read the news & do Wordle! After that I take Beau our puppy for a walk. It’s such a nice way to start the day.

What is your biggest indulgence?

I definitely indulge when it comes to food! I love trying new restaurants & dining out.

What does sustainability mean to you?

My motivation has always been quality over quantity in both business & in my personal life and it will always remain this way. I think it's important to reflect on what will either add meaning or be functional. With An Organised Life I can often spend weeks or even months dreaming up & perfecting a product - I have no intention to create and produce products that our community don’t need. We also incorporate sustainable materials in our products and our packaging, we’ve created a glossary on our site for customers. Sustainability is definitely a journey but I’m really proud of the changes we’ve made as a company so far.
