Cultivating RADIANCE by supporting your LYMPH

Q&A with Simone, founder of Sante, on the lymphatic system + cellular stimulation through Endermologie.

I’m completely enamoured with Simone’s view of the body, the mind + the connection between, and her philosophy on beauty and radiance deeply connect with my own. I feel Simone sees past the mundane often clinical world and has a way of bringing it all together with lightness and depth.

Why is it important to support the lymphatic system?

The lymphatic system is a crucial yet often overlooked system of the body. It is an essential part of the immune system, acting as the first line of defence against disease and infection. It acts as a garbage collector picking up waste products and toxins, neutralising them and ushering them out of the body. Without sufficient lymphatic flow, these toxins can build up and remain trapped in our cells and tissues.

In addition to detoxication and immune health, the lymphatic system plays an important role in the absorption of fats from the intestine. It supports the digestive system by absorbing fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins from your gut and transporting them to your bloodstream, making them available for your cells.

The fluid balance in your body is also maintained by the lymphatic system, which collects, purify’s and drains excess fluid, returning it to your bloodstream so your tissues don’t swell.

as you can see, the lymphatic system cleanses & nourishes every system of the body & is a crucial system to support for overall health & wellbeing.

What makes your method different from dry body brushing or manual lymphatic massage?

A Santé treatment involves the use of a unique patented French technology called LPG Endermologie, which is backed by over 145 scientific studies and 80 medical publications.

Endermologie works via mechanical stimulation of the skin and underlying connective tissue (fascia) to stimulate cellular activity. It uses a roller and a flap in combination with negative pressure or suction, which naturally increases blood flow, stimulates the lymphatic system, and activates cellular regeneration.

At Santé I use the latest generation Endermologie machine, the Cellu M6 Alliance, which provides a more tailored and precise treatment as it adapts to each individual skin type allowing for enhanced intensity and better tissue mobilisation whilst completely respecting the integrity of the skin. It is completely natural, non-invasive, and it supports the body’s own natural healing mechanisms.

Dry body brushing is a wonderful self-lymphatic care practice; however, it cannot compare to the intensity and effectiveness of an Endermologie treatment. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a light, skin-stretching lymphatic massage technique which supports the movement of lymphatic fluid. Whilst also very effective, it is more delicate and less vigorous in nature compared to Endermologie.

Your philosophy is beautiful, how does this translate through your treatments?

Santé provides space for people to stimulate their senses. A place to explore the mind-body connection and find ways to feel energised, grounded and truly alive.

A Santé treatment is deeply relaxing in nature, supporting you to switch into your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) state.

The sensory nature of the treatment facilitates greater body awareness and connection. By bringing your awareness to your sensations you’re brought back into the present moment, encouraging you to feel more centred and grounded in your body. The sensation of buzzing and tingling felt during the treatment also increases your awareness of the blood flow and energy that’s circulating throughout your body. The combination of these effects creates a feeling of lightness, relaxation, and vibrancy post-treatment.

I don’t believe there is any separation between the mind and body. Awareness is the distinguishing feature. When we’re able to slow down and tune into our sensations we can bring our focus back to the body, rather than just being present from the neck up.

Your facial is called a RADIANCE FACIAL; I love that you don’t talk to wrinkles or anti-aging, what does radiance mean to you?

our radiance is our inner light and the authentic expression of who we are, which i consider to be the source of our true beauty.

I believe radiance is generated from our inner vibrancy, which is supported by healthy cells, connection to self, joy, relaxation, and reverence for our own unique beauty and individuality.

To me, radiance is a projection, a frequency we transmit much more than anything tangible or definable. It’s that je ne sais quoi that we all have access to when we shine out our authentic essence.

Whilst facial Endermologie has the end result of improved wrinkles and skin tone, what it does is support the health of our skin cells, flushes the tissue with blood and nutrients, brings our awareness back to our sensations and supports us to deeply relax and be in the present moment. This brings the focus back to ourselves and away from comparison, allowing us to greater appreciate our own unique beauty and emanate our radiance out into the world.

You talk a lot about the mind body connection, could you elaborate a little more on what that means to you?

As I mentioned above, I don’t believe there is any separation between the mind and the body, they are one and the same. You cannot affect one and not the other. In many ways, viewing the mind and body as distinct can create an obstacle to true healing.

I believe we are whole beings made up of physical and non-physical aspects, but these aspects do not exist without each other. I think this point is best illustrated by Dr. Candace Pert, neuroscientist, pharmacologist, and author of Molecules of Emotion, who wrote:

“Your mind is in every cell of your body.”

I love that you talk about ‘Cellular Beauty’, could you talk to that here for those of us that are unaware of what that concept is?

I describe cellular beauty as beauty from the inside out. When we awaken the cells and stimulate our body’s own natural regeneration processes, we activate our glow from within. Our inner health and vitality create our outer beauty. Our cells are only as healthy as the environment they live in. Before our cells can receive the oxygen and nutrients they need to carry out their essential functions, they require a clean environment, meaning the efficient elimination of cellular waste and toxins. This is where the lymphatic system comes in.

Without healthy lymphatic function to clear waste and sufficient blood circulation to bring fresh oxygen and nutrients, our cells will not function optimally, and we won’t have full access to our inner life force energy that is created by healthy cells.

You talk about the body as a vessel through which we sense and experience life and the need to support and look after it to have the best experience.  What are your favourite ways to support your body and could you elaborate on that this philosophy means to you a little?

In our 3D reality we experience this life through our body. Our sensations inform our experience of reality, and we sense the world via our body. We hear, see, feel, smell, and taste the world around us.

I would also argue that we sense things beyond our known five physiological senses through the body. For example, those butterflies you get when you’re nervous or the muscle tension you experience when you’re stressed. The body is therefore the lens through which we experience the world and also an important reflection of our inner emotional state.

My favourite ways to support the body include Endermologie of course, as well as spending time in nature and sunlight, Vedic meditation to help with stress management, and checking in with my body daily, noticing any sensations and asking my body what it needs. I also enjoy moving my body regularly in a way that feels nourishing for me. At the moment that looks like strength training and walking in nature. And it’s crucial for me to support my energy with nutrient and mineral dense foods as well as prioritising sleep.

Finally, I also love any self-care practices that bring me back into my body such as dry-body brushing, gua sha, infrared saunas, massage and kinesiology to name a few.
